Weather Update: 1-2 inches of heavy rain expected in the Bronx

THE BRONX -

There is a potential for some significant rainfall and localized flooding Friday, according to the National Weather Service.  

The heaviest of the rain is expected to impact the region by mid-morning and last until the evening commute.

About 1-2 inches of rain will fall during the midday Friday, according to News 12 meteorologists. 

Gusty winds up to up 50 mph and flooding will be likely for the evening commute. 

Most of the heavy rainfall will be done by 5 p.m., with lingering light showers this evening and a chilly feel.
