FORDHAM -

A pawn shop employee in Fordham thwarted the robbery of a co-worker who was being attacked by two men, police say.

The incident happened on May 6, in front of the Concourse Inc. Loan pawn shop on the Grand Concourse around 6 p.m.

Police say a store employee wearing a backpack was approached by two men on the street who attempted to rob him, even taking him to the ground and dragging him by the pack.

Another store employee saw what was happening to his co-worker and he rushed over and began to fight off the suspects who eventually gave up and ran.

Police say no arrests have been made and anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS
