Bronx man victim of ATM skimming
A Bronx man says he is a victim of ATM skimming.
David Alejandro says a total of $800 was stolen from his TD Bank account.
Alejandro believes the skimming took place sometime last week at his bank on West 230th Street in Kingsbridge.
Police have classified his case as a skimming scam.  Skimming is when thieves use hidden magnetic card readers to steal PINs and other personal information from ATMs.
The NYPD says skimming is common, and the department is warning the public to be extra cautious when withdrawing money.
Alejandro says he is working with the bank to get his money back.
TD Bank tells News 12 it is working with the NYPD regarding the skimming event.  It says protecting customers' personal information is something it takes very seriously, and that customers who may have been affected were notified and will receive new debit cards.
