Tenants at 1675 Grand Concourse rally against landlord

Tenants of a Grand Concourse apartment building protested what they called deplorable conditions Tuesday, slamming their landlord for alleged abuses.
The residents of 1675 Grand Concourse packed the building's lobby to demand repairs and other maintenance work.
They say the building faces rat and mold infestations and has leaks, cracked walls, broken tiles, chipped paint and lacks elevator access.
And the complaints go back at least four years, according to one tenant.
The landlord, Eldel Family Management Corp., says it is addressing the situation and accused some tenants of blocking maintenance workers from entering their apartments to make repairs.
