Craft brewery owners voice business concerns in Williamsburg

Some business owners say that there are challenges to starting and operating craft breweries and distilleries in Brooklyn, despite their rapid growth.
Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams joined business owners from the brewing industry Tuesday at New York Distilling Company in Williamsburg to listen to their concerns.
Adams is asking the New York City Economic Development Corporation to create a point person that can provide information to those who want to enter or expand the industry.
Adams says he would also like to see the city develop a yearly craft beverage awareness campaign and website. He says the industry is growing the economy in Brooklyn and needs additional support.
The borough president is also recommending that the state of New York allow city businesses to apply for a permit to serve alcohol at 8 a.m. every day of the week.
