Officials are investigating after a man was shot in the leg near the Farragut Houses early Thursday morning in Vinegar Hill.

They say at around 3:15 a.m. the victim told police he was walking out of the building when he heard a gunshot and then felt pain to his leg. The victim says he was unable to get a good look at the shooter.

The man was taken to Methodist Hospital and is expected to be OK.

Police taped off the area in front of 191 Sands St. as they searched for evidence and look through surveillance footage to determine where and who those gunshots came from.
