THE BRONX -

The New York City Parks Department is offering free sunscreen at select beaches this summer to help keep beachgoers safe from the sun.

Sunscreen dispensers will be installed along the waterfront of the beaches.

The Parks Department says it hopes the dispensers will become as common as hand-sanitizing dispensers over the next few years.

The pilot program will be held at Manhattan Beach, Brighton Beach and Coney Island.
