Couple claims rodent problem in apartment causing sickness

THE BRONX -

A Bronx couple says a rodent problem in their apartment near Crotona Parkway is making them sick.

Mark and Jennifer Beaumont claim they have been dealing with inadequate repairs since they moved into their apartment one year ago. The couple had reached out to News 12 in March about other problems relating to their apartment.

They say they have been to housing court numerous times and that the building's management company has made repairs, but some were less than adequate.

They now claim mice in their apartment is making them ill.

"I know the mice have been setting off my asthma even more because I have to use my inhaler more and more" says Mark Beaumont.

One of the exterminators reached out to News 12, claiming the Beaumonts on one occasion refused pest service to treat their apartment. The Beaumonts deny this.

The property management company claims the couple is disgruntled and that the building is kept in good condition.

News 12 was unable to speak to the owner of the building.
