Yankees manager encourages youth to get active this summer

New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi encouraged the city's youth to get active this summer during a visit to the PAL Playstreet camp in Washington Heights.
He says it's important to make health a priority at a young age.
"When you talk about eating healthy and exercising, you're talking about a healthy lifestyle, and that's better for your mind and everything that you do," he says.
In an effort to get kids moving, PAL Playstreet came up with a fitness challenge that will track how much participants are exercising. Those that exert the most energy will be rewarded with prizes, including free Yankees tickets.
There are 15 Playstreet camps citywide, and four of them are in the Bronx: located at Julio Caballo playground, Forrest Houses, Melrose playground and Randall's playground. Anyone who wishes to participate can just show up. There is no sign-up process beforehand.
