PELHAM GARDENS -

Police say a Bronx man is dead after a motorcycle crash in Pelham Gardens Saturday night.

They say the incident happened around 9 p.m. near the intersection of Eastchester Road and Pelham Parkway North.

According to police, 31-year-old Danny Cornejo was riding his motorcycle on Pelham Parkway North toward Eastchester Road when he failed to properly navigate the roadway. They say Cornejo then fell off the bike and slid under an SUV that was stopped at a red light.

Officials say the 63-year-old Yonkers man driving the SUV stayed on the scene. They say Cornejo was rushed to the hospital after being found unconscious and unresponsive, but was later pronounced dead.

Police say the driver of the SUV was arrested and charged with a DWI.

It is unknown if there are any charges pending against him in the crash.
