Brooklyn mother seeks answers 4 years after daughter’s death

One Brooklyn mother is still seeking answers about why her daughter was left to die in a Brooklyn jail cell, despite her pleas for medical attention four years ago.
Police arrested Kyam Livingston in July 2013 after they say they found her drunk.
During the several hours Livingston spent at Brooklyn’s central booking, inmates say she cried out for help and claimed to have intense stomach pain.
Livingston’s mother Anita Neal believes officers ignored those pleas.
While the family filed a wrongful death lawsuit in Brooklyn Federal Court, the district attorney’s office says it did not find criminality in the case.
As the anniversary of her death approaches, Livingston’s family members and supporters are collecting signatures in hopes of having a Bronx street named after her.
