Volunteers team up to clean, help beautify River Park

Posted: Updated:
THE BRONX -

A group of volunteers in West Farms dedicated their Saturday to beautifying a local park.

The Bronx River Alliance, Community Board 6 and the volunteers spent a few hours of their day cleaning up trash and recording their finds at River Park.

With its waterfall and rushing waters, the park is popular among families - especially for barbecues and parties, as well as for fishermen looking to spend some time on the water.

The volunteers say keeping the park clean is very important to them so that they and the rest of the community can continue to enjoy the natural resources and everything else the park has to offer.
