New service allows buses to hold green lights longer

According to a recent report, five select buses have technology that holds green lights longer and turns red lights green quicker.

MTA officials call the service "Transit Signal Priority."

The report found that after TSP, bus travel times on those five routes improved daily travel by nearly 18 percent.

Each borough has one bus implemented with the new service.
