After spending their summer in the Bronx, a group of students from the Palestinian territories will be saying goodbye this week to the Big Apple.
Some of the students from Bethlehem University had never traveled before, but for the past 13 weeks they have been at Manhattan College working a summer research program and learning life lessons.
Between their studies, the students took in the sights, sounds and food of the city.
Student Jane Allawi says she was amazed by the academic freedom American students have.
"I saw that there are so many options here, and I love that because back home we don't have a lot of programs, a lot of options for biology students,” she says.
Last summer, two students were in the program.  This year, there were five.
