Son accused of killing mom's boyfriend in domestic dispute

A 43-year-old man died after an 18-year-old used a chokehold on him during a domestic dispute that involved his mother, police say.
Investigators say the incident started early Monday morning when a man and woman got into a physical altercation in a fourth-floor apartment at 2294 University Ave. Police say the woman's 18-year-old son placed the man in a chokehold during the fight.
When officers arrived, they found the 43-year-old man unresponsive; he later died at North Central Bronx Hospital. Police identified him as Stanley Washington, of Creston Avenue.
Neighbors say they believe the man and woman were at one point dating and would often argue outside the building.
The woman's son was arrested and faces several charges in connection with the dispute.
