Newly released surveillance video shows an alleged predator who police say sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl Sunday morning on Weeks Avenue and East 173rd Street.

Martin Fernandez, who lives in the neighborhood, says he has seen the suspect before and provided surveillance video from his friend's grocery store. He believes the suspect lives in the area. When he saw the suspect's photo on the news, Sanchez says he realized that the suspect was the same person seen in the grocery surveillance footage.

That video shows the alleged suspect walking back and forth outside the story at the corner of East 174th Street and Weeks Avenue.

Police continued their search for the suspect on Tuesday, posting flyers in the area where the assault occurred.
