Morris Park neighbors want hornets to buzz off

Posted: Updated:
MORRIS PARK -

A group of homeowners in Morris Park wants some unwanted hornets to buzz off.

Dee Dee, 57, first noticed a large hornet nest outside her Lurting Avenue home about two weeks ago after it was pointed out by a neighbor.

The NYPD is actually responsible for removing the hive -- a process that will be handled by the department's beekeeper.

News 12 reporter Carmen Grant contacted the NYPD Bees Twitter account, which advised a call to 911 that would result in the beekeeper getting involved.

In the meantime, residents say they hope for the hive's quick removal.
