Police seek vandals who destroyed Edgewater Park guard booth

THE BRONX -

Edgewater Park residents banded together last month to improve safety in their neighborhood by installing new guard booth.

Now police are on the hunt for vandals who destroyed it, and an after-hours security guard is on duty in its replacement.

Police are seeking four or five men and at least one other person in connection with the July 26 demolition. Surveillance video from that day shows a car near the scene around 4 a.m. A group of men also appear on video, with their faces covered in shirts and shadows.

The Edgewater Park Owners Cooperative is offering a $500 reward for information leading to an arrest.
