Business, residents hope for better weather on Labor Day
The remnants of Harvey brought rain and cool weather into the tri-state area for parts of the weekend, but people were trying to enjoy the rest of the Labor Day holiday.
Ted Karikas, the owner of Johnny Reef Restaurant on City Island, says the cool, wet summer has made business a little slow.
“People love to come and sit outside. When the weather’s been good, it's been very busy, but as you can see, on a day like today, it's not going to be great,” he says.
One tourist from Germany said he was disappointed by the weather, but some residents say the rain doesn’t bother them at all.
“A little rain never hurt anybody,” said the resident.
News 12 meteorologists say Monday will be sunny with temperatures in the low-80s.
