Bronx residents flocked to Williamsbridge Oval Park Saturday to celebrate the area's 80th birthday.

Kids and local leaders alike came out for a party at the former reservoir that became an official New York City space in 1937.

History was a major part of the celebration, with posters showing the park's evolution alongside games and music from the 1930s and a presentation from the Bronx's historian.

A new addition for the big day was a plaque detailing the park’s history over eight decades.

Arts and crafts, dancing and birthday cake kept things going for community members and local politicians.

The park has playgrounds, tennis courts and a track, and will add a skate park next year.
