Williamsburg's large Puerto Rican population came out in full force Sunday for a celebration of their culture.

The Puerto Rican parade in Williamsburg began 24 years ago, and has now become a tradition for locals to march down Graham Avenue.

"Our music and how we are as people, we're very happy and this is exactly what the community needs for us to represent and let them know that this is just how we are as people," says Williamsburg resident Jacqueline Quinones.

Organizers say that as the Puerto Rican population in the area has slowly moved out, the size of the parade has become smaller. They say despite that, it has only pushed those who remain to keep the tradition going.
