Woman suffers severe burns in Sherman Ave. fire

A 65-year-old woman suffered severe burns in an early morning fire on Sherman Avenue.
Fire officials say the flames broke out around 3 a.m. on the fourth floor of 1056 Sherman Ave.
The woman was rescued from the apartment by two strangers, but still suffered burns to her body and face. Her husband says she was in bad shape at Harlem Hospital.
News 12 is told that the two men who rescued the 65-year-old woman also warned others to escape the building. One of those people was a pregnant woman.
Fire marshals are investigating the cause of the blaze.
