Witnesses: FBI, NYPD raid Edenwald Houses in the Bronx

Federal investigators and the NYPD appeared to be raiding the Edenwald Houses in the Bronx early Tuesday, according to witnesses.
Witnesses tell News 12 the raid started around 6 a.m. after they heard loud bangs coming from inside the NYCHA development on 1170 E. 229th Drive South.
The NYPD and FBI agents were seen walking in and out of the project all morning.
An FBI law enforcement source spoke on anonymity and told News 12 the actions are either a response to a gang takedown or a drug raid.
Both FBI and NYPD officials did not comment on the specific matter of the investigation.
