Man in critical condition after tow-truck slams into car in Castle Hill

A 22-year-old man is fighting for his life after a possible car race gone wrong.
Police tell News 12 the incident happened just before 6:30 p.m. Friday when two tow-trucks were driving south on Zerega Avenue when another car was exiting a parking lot and turning left on Homer Avenue.
Officials say that's when one of the tow-trucks slammed into the car. The truck lost control and crashed into a fence onto the parking lot of a business.
Surveillance video shows someone running into the parking lot, right after the crash and running back out.
News 12 is told that person could possibly be the other driver of the tow-truck, who police say fled the scene.
The owner of the business where the crash happened says it was mostly likely caused by the two tow-trucks racing to see who could get to a car first.
The 22-year-old was rushed to Jacobi Hospital in critical condition.
No arrests have been made.
