A Bronx couple fought back against a robbery suspect in an incident captured on video.

The video shows a man with a knife trying to rob the couple inside the hallway of their apartment building on East 175th Street. The man's hand can be seen on the neck of the 49-year-old woman.

Moments later, the woman's 52-year-old husband tries to wrestle away the knife from the suspect. The woman then picks up a broom and starts to whack the attacker.

The couple does not speak English, but they demonstrated to News 12 how they defended themselves. The man also showed where he was slashed during the attack.

Police say the suspect got away with the woman's purse.
