Members of the NYPD's 49th Precinct and the Explorers Program swapped patrol cars for chef hats Tuesday to cook warm meals for needy local families ahead of Thanksgiving.
The menu included turkey, stuffing, chicken, pork, lasagna, rice and couscous for 20 needy families.
Additionally, they handed out 50 tickets -- for meals not court appearances -- that granted turkeys to other underprivileged families.
Local officials donated turkeys for the event, and the supermarket Stop and Shop and Gov. Andrew Cuomo's office stepped in as well.
