Tenant: Co-op City parking garage is like Wild West

A tenant says the rules in his Co-op City parking garage are like the Wild West.
The man, who asked not to appear on camera or be identified, has lived in Co-op City for a decade. According to his co-op garage lease, he's had a space in garage No. 6 since 2012, but it was terminated in November 2014 for being untidy.
"They said it was excessively dirty," he says.
That dirt was, according to the letter sent by the Riverbay Corporation, dirt and a flat tire. A week after receiving the letter, the man says his two cars were towed.
"I want the garage department to stop bullying and terrorizing the tenants," he says. "As cooperators, we are the owners of these apartments, and we work this out with each other. It's not management down, it's cooperators up."
The lease states that the garage must be kept clean by tenants but doesn't specify whether that means litter or the cars themselves.
News 12 did not immediately hear back from Riverbay Corporation, which manages the garage, for comment.
