Police seek man accused of assaulting, biting 2 officers

Police are seeking the public’s help finding a man who they say assaulted two officers in the Bronx.

Police say Daniel Ortiz tried to get into a subway station on East 167th Street through the emergency exit gate Tuesday morning.

Officers approaching Ortiz discovered he had a warrant out for his arrest. Police say he pushed, shoved and bit both officers, who were trying to take him into custody, before running away.

Both officers were taken to Montefiore Hospital.
