The children of an NYPD detective killed in the line of duty have been awarded a new home through various foundations.
Genesis Villella, 20, alongside her two younger siblings Delilah and Peter Vega, 12, accepted the $900,000 award on behalf of their mother, slain NYPD detective Miosotis Familia.
Familia was shot and killed by a man while sitting inside of her mobile gang unit van in the Bronx back in July.
The award was presented to the children by the Tunnels to Towers Foundation, the Skyview Riverdale Apartments and Halstead Property Management.
The children were awarded a mortgage free two-bedroom co-op in the Riverdale section of the Bronx just in time for Christmas.
The children thanked the foundation and donners who raised the money during a press conference Friday.
