Bronx residents brace for season's first snowfall

Bronx residents are bracing for a snowstorm expected to impact the region this weekend.
Sanitation workers throughout the city are also getting ready.  While the forecast calls for 2-4 inches of snow, officials say it will still bring slick roads and icy conditions as temperatures continue to drop.
The Department of Sanitation held a press conference today in Manhattan to show off its seasonal preparedness.
They say their fleet of plow trucks are ready for winter.
"In anticipation of this, as of 7 a.m. tomorrow, we will be in 12-hour shifts. We will pre-position the spreaders ahead of first flake. We anticipate still going out on collections with plows on because we don't expect 2 inches until later in the morning. If that changes or if those models change, we will make different plans, but we will have the people in place to be doing both spreading and salting operations," a DSNY spokesperson says.
Many Bronx residents have already pulled out their gloves and shoveling gear.
"I don't look forward to the snow. Because I have to clean it up," one man says.
A winter weather advisory will be in effect from 6 a.m. Saturday until 1 a.m. Sunday.
