Snow, freezing temperatures make for messy morning commute

A light snowfall paired with freezing temperatures made for a messy morning commute in some areas Thursday.
Bronx commuters braved freezing temperatures Wednesday only to be hit with a coating of light snow overnight.
Drivers are being advised to take it easy on the roads and to give themselves extra time to get to where they need to be going.
If taking mass transit or walking the streets, commuters should wear as many layers of clothing as possible to keep in the heat, officials recommend.
Also, be mindful of slippery or icy sidewalks and streets.
A second round of snow briefly impacted the morning commute, but wrapped up around 9 a.m.
The Bronx only received about 1 inch of snow during Thursday's event.
