Boogie Down Bites: Yo-Burger

Posted: Updated:
RIVERDALE -

A burger and frozen yogurt shop is seeing success in the Bronx.

Yo-Burger opened in the Riverdale section of the Bronx about five years ago, and owner Arian Curanaj says business has been good.

Everything is fresh. The angus beef is never frozen, and the frozen yogurt is all low-fat or non-fat and kosher," Curanaj says.

Whether you're getting a burger, or dessert, Curanaj says all of the toppings are picked by the customer.

He says he came up with the idea for the burger and frozen yogurt joint while vacationing in California.

"I noticed it was a very good concept to have two businesses in one. Self-serve frozen yogurt, create your own burger," he says.

Another reason he credits the success of his business is due to the lack of other burger joints in the area.
