Residents are standing together Monday in an effort to fix an abundant amount of plumbing issues in their apartment complex.
The building is located at 391 E. 197th St.
Mayda Marquez and her two boys say they haven't had heat or hot water since Thursday. They say this issue has happened before, and that they are still waiting on a permanent fix to a leaky pipe in their bathroom.
Other tenants living in the five-floor building say they all have the same issues. They say they are looking out for each other since the landlord isn't looking out for them.
According to the Department of Finance, documents show A1 Equities took over the complex in 2015. However, a representative for the company claimed they took over in August 2017. They say they are working on the heat and hot water issue.
Tenants say a welder showed up Monday afternoon and headed down to the boiler room. They say they are hoping the heat and hot water issue will be fixed soon.
The Department of Housing and Preservations website shows that there are nearly 100 complaints within the past year, with 30 open violations.
