NEW YORK -

AAA is offering some tips on how to properly winterize your car.

"You need to give attention to your tires, you need to give attention to your battery," says Robert Sinclair Jr., AAA Northeast manager. "Batteries lose power as it gets colder."

Some tips to winterize your car include keeping your tires inflated, switching to winter tires, getting your coolant checked and checking your windshield wiper fluid.

But anyone who doesn't feel comfortable winterizing their own car can feel free to bring to a trusted mechanic or a AAA-certified technician.

"We've got a network of approved auto repair facilities that we inspect twice a year and make sure they have the knowledge and the equipment to do a good job with your vehicle," Sinclair says.
