The New York City Parks Department has some recommendations for how to recycle Christmas tree as the season comes to an end.
One of the options suggested is to attend Mulchfest 2018, which will be held Saturday, Jan. 6 and Sunday, Jan. 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
They say people can bring Christmas trees to a designated chipping locations and they will chip the tree and provide them with their very own bag of mulch.
Another way to recycle is to bring trees to a drop-off sit from Dec. 31 through Jan. 7 and the department will recycle it later on.
Parks will also be conducting special curbside pickups from Tuesday, Jan. 2 through Saturday, Jan. 13.
According to the Parks Department, 26,000 people remembered to recycle their trees last year.
