Cardinal Timothy Dolan stopped by a Bronx firehouse to bring some smiles in what has been a tough week in the borough.
Dolan visited FDNY Engine 88/Ladder 38 Sunday, which included some of the more than 170 firefighters who responded to the blaze in Belmont Thursday night that killed 12 people.
The community, still in shock, has seen memorials grow at Prospect Avenue and 187th Street.
The FDNY used the cardinal's visit to not only thank him, but to remind residents about fire safety.
Among the tips included a reminder to monitor children at all times. This comes after officials say an unattended 3-year-old playing with a stove started last week's deadly fire.
