Sotomayor tenants: Heat went out during deep freeze

SOUNDVIEW -

Tenants in part of NYCHA's Sotomayor Houses say they've been without heat for at least week -- a week that's been marked by near-record lows.

NYCHA says the heat at 1824 Watson Ave. was intermittent in that span but has since been restored. The housing authority says it made repairs to three boilers, which are all working now.

But the tenants say it doesn't feel any warmer inside.

Parents have been keeping their children bundled up inside the building. Other residents have been using hand warmers and space heaters.
