The Army will honor a soldier who rescued people from a Belmont fire that killed 13 people with the Medal of Valor.
Private Emmanuel Mensah saved four people from the Prospect Avenue building on Dec. 28 but was later found dead inside the building.
The Daily News reports Mensah will also receive a Soldiers Award; the Army's highest peacetime honor for bravery.
The award is given for acts of personal danger and voluntary risk of life under conditions not involving conflict.
The Medal of Valor is awarded to those who display similar acts of heroism.
Funeral arrangements have not been formally announced for Private Mensah.
