Police are on the hunt for a man they say tried to rape a woman Friday.
Surveillance video captured the suspect around 6 a.m. Police say he approached a 45-year-old woman as she was coming down the stairs of an apartment building near Fox Street and Saint John Avenue.
He allegedly pulled out a gun, exposed himself, put the victim into a headlock and tried to assault her.
Officials say that he then exposed his genitals and pushed the woman into a wall and put her in a headlock before grabbing her buttocks.
She screamed and the suspect ran off, according to police.
They say the man is about 25 years old with a beard and was last seen wearing a blue baseball cap, black sneakers, a hooded sweatshirt, a blue jacket and blue jeans.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
