Two emergency room doctors are using technology to help the way they educate future doctors at St. Barnabas Hospital. 

Using 3-D simulation, educators are printing parts of the body that are lifelike enough to help residents practice and perfect methods before using them in real people.

Dr. Mina Attaalla and Dr. Jeffrey Lazar say so far, the method has been quite the hit among residents. 

"We've received overwhelming positive feedback on how they feel this improves their education, increases their comfort level and makes them feel more prepared when they have to do the procedure in real time on a real patient," says Lazar.

The 3-D printers and programs are currently self-funded by the two educators, but they hope it will be the start of something bigger in their residency program
