Twins in college open store in Highbridge

THE BRONX -

A pair of twins from Highbridge are investing in the community by launching a store down the block from where they live.

Ebrima and Adamh Barnett are the founders of Slumpy's Smoke Shop on Walton Avenue.

The convenience store carries food, party supplies and hookahs.

The college seniors say the business is what neighbors have been craving.

"The neighbors, they're kind of excited. They say it's about time something like this opened here," says Ebrima Barnett.

Their mother, Cleonie Barnett-Mullings, is also part of the action: she is helping manage the business.
