Woman who lost mother, baby in fire wants to educate others on fire safety

A Bronx woman who lost her baby and mother in a deadly fire on Prospect Avenue says while the incident haunts her, she wants to educate others about fire safety.
Christine Batiz lived on the third floor of 2363 Prospect Ave. with her mother, Maria, and her 7-month-old daughter Amora Serenity Vidal.
On Dec. 28, Batiz's mother and daughter died in the bathtub hiding from smoke caused by the fire.  A total of 13 people died as a result of the fire.
"She had my daughter in her arms and she told me that they were gonna die, and to know that I couldn't help her...it hurts me," she says.
As much as Batiz wishes the fire never happened, she says she wants to educate people with simple reminders.
"Make sure your alarms work, alert people if you can knock on their doors.," she says.
