Parents: Special-needs teen attacked by students, cuffed by guard

Three students attacked a special-needs girl and then security guards handcuffed her at M.S.144 in Baychester last week, according to her family, who asked not to go on camera.
"Only one girl is getting arrested when there was more than one girl," says the woman identifying herself as the girl's mother. "I think all of them should get arrested."
The mother says the attackers were sent home early while her 15-year-old daughter was allegedly manhandled and handcuffed by a school safety officer.
"How is it that you are the victim, but you are in handcuffs?" the mother asks.
The teen has not returned to school since the incident. Her parents say they are seeking counseling and a transfer while also accusing the school of failing to act when it was aware of previous threats against their daughter.
