Man wants Bruckner Expwy. underpass cleaned up

A Bronx man says he's had enough of the trash and dangerous conditions near the Bruckner Expressway.
"This is no way for this community to live," Jonathan Jourdain says of the area near the Hunts Point drawbridge, Whitlock Avenue and Longfellow Street.
He says there is an unlocked gate that homeless people use to get beneath the overpass for shelter -- and that drug dealers use it for business.
"There's a new park across the street, and I'm more concerned about the kids and the community," he says. "They can hurt themselves. Anything can happen. People should be outraged that these conditions are going on in the Bronx. Supposedly the revitalization of the Bronx, and this doesn't look like it's being revitalized."
Jourdain says he reported the conditions to the Department of Transportation years ago to no avail.
The DOT did not immediately respond to a News 12 request for comment.
