Lincoln Hospital is city's 1st naloxone distribution center

Lincoln Hospital has become the city's first naloxone distribution center.
Organizers say offering the kit will help prevent opioid overdoses. The goal is to combat the opioid epidemic in the city.
According to the mayor's office, more than 1,000 people died in 2016 from opioid overdoses, and that more people died of opioid overdoses than from car crashes and homicides combined.
Anyone 12 years or older can pick up a kit and receive a quick tutorial on how to use it.
The center is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.
