Dozens of headstones, monuments damaged at BK cemetery

Dozens of headstones and monuments were vandalized inside a Brooklyn cemetery.
The discovery was made on Feb. 8 by the groundskeeper at the Holy Cross Cemetery.
Officials believe the vandals struck sometime after 4 p.m. Thursday when the gates to the cemetery were closed.
Crews have repaired or replaced 63 headstones and monuments that were destroyed or vandalized.
Among the monuments struck was a 6-foot statue of Saint Joseph that was broken into several pieces and could not be salvaged, officials say.
Police say they are reviewing surveillance video from nearby locations in hopes of finding any suspects.
