Darien church cancels service due to snowy conditions

The aftermath of Saturday night's snowfall affected some worshippers in Darien Sunday morning.
The First Congressional Church of Darien canceled its early service but held its later one.
Salt was spread out on the church's steps to reduce the risk of slipping.
Still, people were urged to be cautious of any icy spots around.
Church leaders say even if the snow kept some people away, it was important to go on with the later service due to Sunday being the first of Lent.
The cancellation also deprived the church a chance to promote a food drive, but it is still determined to push onward.
