Three weeks after Groundhog Day, temperatures soared well into the 60s in the Bronx.
"This is such a relief," says Mary Sanford, of Fordham. "I love it. Not crazy about the global warming, but this is a nice respite."
The unseasonable warmth surprised residents with a high of 65. Some even went to the New York Botanical Garden for a chance to see early blossoms.
Forecasters say Wednesday could see temperatures break into the 70s.
But the record high temperatures will not stick around for long, according to News 12 meteorologists.
Thursday and Friday will see rain and highs in the mid-40s.
Early forecasts show temperatures in the 50s over the weekend.
