THE BRONX -

The NYC Ferry is expected to start making its way to Clason Point in Soundview this summer.

Mayor Bill de Blasio made the announcement on Wednesday. Along with the Soundview service, another ferry terminal will be built in Manhattan's Lower East Side.

NYC Ferry started less than a year ago in the Rockaways. De Blasio says it has so far been a success, bringing in more riders than anticipated.

An estimated 400,000 people each year will be using the Soundview ferry once it launches.
