A program aimed at making the most out of Brooklyn waterfront sites is now going nationwide.

The Expansion of the Waterfront Edge Design Guidelines helps local government, developers and communities decide how to best use waterfront properties. The goal is to make sure development projects are eco-friendly, accessible to the public and economically sustainable.

The WEDG principles have helped guide projects like the development of the old Domino sugar factory site and Brooklyn Bridge Park.

The Waterfront Alliance is using what they've learned in Brooklyn to make recommendations on other waterfront development projects across the country.
